Our youngest cardinals celebrated Dot Day today by making their mark!
A note from Mrs. Grant: The story; The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds goes perfectly with our Leader in Me Habit Huddles. It teaches us we can change our paradigms and find our voice. Today we were able to bring our work to life and find our own genius within us. My class is making a mark in the world! 😃
Congratulations to this month's Terrific Kids! Each morning our students participate in Leader in Me modules where they learn about leadership of themselves and their actions. These students were chosen because they are models of these habits.

📢 West Zone Elementary Student Night 📢
Calling all West Zone Elementary Schools: Wear your school shirt on Friday, September 20th, and show your school spirit at the Varsity Football Game! If you wear your school shirt, you'll get your name entered into a drawing for a prize from our WLHS Football Team, Cheer Squad, or Band!
We hope you can join us for a night of FUN!

A note from Mrs. Burgess: My class is working on comparing numbers this week. Which number has the greatest value for our alligator to eat?
A note from Mr. Bess: My class worked on synergy this morning during habit huddle. Synergy is using the best ideas from everyone and creating even better ideas. Students were challenged to build the tallest tower possible using only items on top of their desks.

Mark your calendars for Constitution Day 2024!

A special thank you to Riverview Baptist Church who hosted a Love Memorial Back to School Bash on Friday, September 6th at the Betty Ross Park. There was a large turnout of families and staff. We had lots of fun, fellowship and food. All you could eat hotdogs and an ice cream truck. Students played volleyball, participated in a soccer competition and enjoyed the playground. There were great prizes for the winners of the drawings and the soccer competition. This was a grand time of " Saw Sharpening" with our Cardinal community!

We have a lot of little athletes in the nest today! Love Memorial wants to wish everyone a Happy Football Friday Night! Best of luck to West Lincoln as they prepare for the Battle of Hog Hill at Fred T. Foard.

Ms. Kirby’s cardinals were sharing their strengths for each other in their morning meeting and one of the students had something to say about his 3rd grade teacher.
A note from Liam in Mrs. Kirby's class: “Ms. Kirby’s strength is being a good teacher.”
A note from Mrs. Grant: My 2nd grade cardinals are learning to work together. We are Better Together!
Habit 6 of Leader in Me: Synergize

Check out Mrs. Burgess’ small groups working hard to master digraph “th” this week!
A note from Mr. Bess: The water cycle is happening all around us but my students created a mini-model water cycle to get a closer look. Check out these temperature experiments my students ran to examine results of temperature variation.

A note from Ms. Shaw: We learned today about Labor Day and all the occupations out there. We also did a game of guess who with guessing the occupation on their head while their peers gave them hints. Habit 6 SYNERGIZE
Our youngest cardinals in Pre-K are settling into the nest here at Love Memorial. We are excited to see these little ones become big leaders over the school year!

A note from Ms. Allen: My class was sitting nicely during the calendar and Leader In Me lesson.

A note from Mrs. Burgin:
5th graders were working hard in math today. I want to share a few photos of students interpreting PEMDAS equations using pipe cleaners and index cards.

A note from Mrs. Grant
Love Leads: My class practiced habit 4 by filling each others emotional piggy banks full of kind compliments! They grinned from ear to ear after reading all the kind things their classmates wrote to them.
