Mark your calendars for Family Science Night

October is AAC Awareness Month! AAC or Augmentative and Alternative Communication are the laminated communication boards and devices that people who are minimally or nonspeaking use to communicate. In order to learn that AAC can be their voice, children have to see adults around them “modeling” or touching the boards/devices while they talk. This teaches children that they can use AAC to ask for things and make friendships!
For week two of our Next Top Modeler competition here at Love, staff are counting the times they model AAC with students and the one with the most times gets a basket made up of items and gift cards from the amazing local businesses that donated to this event!
Our second Love Memorial’s Next Top Modeler is…..Tabitha Goins! Ms. Goins is a teacher assistant a self-contained adapted exceptional children’s classroom and has been learning more about AAC and modeling with her students all week long! Thank you Ms. Goins for supporting your student's human right to communicate!
Our other modeling superstars this week are:

Amy Savage Ashley Spargo Kaitlyn Cloninger Grace Goins

White Out Day at Love

Our kindergarteners traveled to West Lincoln High today to participate in the Rebel Journey. The seniors of WL High provided a gift to each of our future Rebels.

Mrs. Campbell's 5th graders will be running a school wide election next week. On Wednesday, Ms. Biggerstaff, who has worked elections in Lincoln County for years, came to discuss the logistics and procedures for holding an election.

Yesterday books came to life as students and staff dressed as characters from literature!

Our PTO sponsored a night of community fun with corn-hole tournaments, hotdogs and fellowship. It was a great evening and time well spent together.

Spirit day 2 has been a Blast from the Past!
We can't wait to see those Book Characters tomorrow for Spirit Day 3 .

If you saw a few extra faculty around the building, don't be fooled. Some of these students are dressed to impress as teachers today! If you see a student that looks a little too old, take a closer look, it might be a teacher dressed as a student.
Tomorrow's Spirit Day is Blast from the Past, dress as your favorite decade.
