Happy New Year from the EL athletic department. 2025 brought us conference, regional, and state championships. As well as state runner ups, conference players of the year, coaches of the year and individual state titles. Many of our sports had deep playoff runs with multiple athletes recognized on all conference, regional and state teams. Every one of our sports was recognized by the NCHSAA all academic teams by maintaining a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during their sports semester. Thank you to our athletes, parents, teachers and administrators. I can't wait to see what 2026 brings. GO MUSTANGS!

Our students work hard all year — they deserve a little magic to close it out! ✨

EL athletics in action this week, we hope to see you there, GO MUSTANGS!!

Career & Technical Education is all about learning by doing—and we’ve been having a blast this December!
From Drone Discovery and hands-on tech skills, to making gingerbread houses and designing holiday homes inspired by different characters, our creativity has been in full swing. 🏠✨ We also put our leadership and knowledge to the test by competing at FCCLA Fall Leadership, where students showed confidence, skill, and school pride!
ELHS CTE brings learning to life through real-world experiences, creativity, and collaboration—and this season proved just how fun and meaningful it can be. 💡🎄 #CTEWorks #HandsOnLearning #FCCLA #StudentSuccess

✨ This Week in Leader in Me! ✨
Courage + Organization = Student Success
It’s easy for students to set goals or make big plans—but the real challenge comes in the moment of choice. That’s where courage shows up. 💪
Courage is choosing what’s right over what’s easy… choosing important over urgent… choosing the goal over the distraction.
This week, our students are learning that putting first things first isn’t just about planning—
it’s about being brave in the moment and making decisions that move them closer to who they want to become. 🌟
They are also practicing how staying organized helps them be both effective and efficient:
📌 Have a place for everything
📌 Organize by role (student, friend, family member)
📌 Shed regularly—get rid of clutter that slows you down
📌 Be effectively efficient with people—relationships always matter most
When students pair courage with organization, they learn to lead themselves with confidence and clarity.
