May 15, 2025 LCS NAMES THREE HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS At the May 13, 2025 Board Meeting, the Lincoln County Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s recommendation of three High School Assistant Principals. LCS announces Adam Volk as the new Asst. Principal of North Lincoln High School. Volk brings over 20 years of educational experience, most recently serving as an Instructional Coach at Community Public Charter School. He has a strong background in instructional leadership, classroom management, and teacher development. He previously taught at Pine Lake Preparatory and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where he was recognized for his innovative teaching strategies and dedication to student growth. LCS announces the appointment of Colby Rash as the new Asst. Principal at East Lincoln High School. Mr. Rash currently serves as a teacher and coach at North Lincoln Middle School, where he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and leadership. With a background that includes data-driven instruction, athletics, and school-wide initiatives, Rash brings a well-rounded perspective to his new role. He holds a Master’s degree in School Administration and has earned the respect of his colleagues for his collaborative leadership style and student-centered approach. LCS announces Haley Hoyle as the new Asst. Principal at Asbury Academy. Hoyle brings more than a decade of experience in education. She spent six years teaching PE and coaching at Shelby Middle School and four years at Shelby High School. Most recently, she served as Assistant Principal at West Lincoln High School, overseeing student discipline, transportation, facilities, MTSS, and custodial services. “I'm dedicated to fostering student success by creating an environment that promotes respect, growth, and inclusion,” Hoyle said. “I believe that collaboration among colleagues is essential to meeting the diverse needs of our students, and open communication is key to our shared success. Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families is the foundation for creating a supportive and trusting school community where every student can thrive.”

May 15, 2025 LCS NAMES NEW ELEMENTARY DEAN OF STUDENTS AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL At the May 13, 2025 Board Meeting, the Lincoln County Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s recommendation of a new Elementary Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. Mrs. Kristina Davis has been appointed Assistant Principal of S. Ray Lowder Elementary School. Mrs. Davis serves as Dean of Students at Battleground Elementary, supporting schoolwide discipline and MTSS. She brings over a decade of experience in classroom instruction and school leadership, including being a grade-level chair, teacher mentor, and literacy lead at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She holds a Master’s in Educational School Leadership from Wingate University and a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education. Her leadership is rooted in collaboration, student growth, and family engagement. Says Mrs. Davis, “I am honored to join the S. Ray Lowder community and excited to support our students, staff, and families in continuing the tradition of excellence. I look forward to working alongside Ms. Beam and our dedicated educators to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive." Mrs. Davis enjoys time outside school with her husband, Dustin, their two sons, Rhett and Parker, and their dogs, Penny and Lucy. Together, they enjoy traveling and supporting their boys in various sports. Lincoln County Schools proudly announces Emily Westbrook as the new Dean of Students at Battleground Elementary. Mrs. Westbrook has over a decade of experience in general and special education, most recently serving as a music educator and PLC lead at Piedmont Community Charter School. She has also held leadership roles in MTSS and School Improvement Teams, demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration, student success, and positive school culture. She holds degrees in Music and Special Education and is completing a certificate in Educational Administration from UNC Charlotte. Mrs. Westbrook’s leadership, creativity, and student-focused approach make her a valuable addition to the Battleground team. Please join us in welcoming her to this new role.
