✨ Susan Lanier – Lincolnton High, Visual Arts

✨ Brooke Russell – North Lincoln High, Visual Arts
North Lincoln students are pushing for excellence through school beautification projects and art competitions. Their talent has already been recognized with honorable mentions in the Aviation Art Contest and at the NCASA Art Showcase state competition. 🖌️🏆
✨ Jacob Brittain – West Lincoln High, Band & AP Music Theory
The West Lincoln Concert Band has been invited to open for the Catawba College Wind Ensemble on Oct. 7 at Catawba College. 🎼
The Marching Band’s 2025 Production, “Music is Everything,” is gearing up for Friday night football and Saturday competitions.
For the first time in school history, the Marching Band will travel to Atlanta, GA, to compete in the Bands of America Southeastern Regional Competition on Nov. 1. 🎺✨
👏 We’re proud of our high school fine arts teachers and students for their creativity, excellence, and dedication to their craft. Lincoln County is shining bright through the arts!

Today, on September 11, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the countless acts of courage and compassion shown on that day and in the days that followed.
We are forever grateful for the bravery of first responders and the resilience of our nation.

Ms. Leigh Davis’ students at Battleground Elementary explored a Mystery Science experiment to prove that matter doesn’t just disappear when we can’t see it. 💡
They dissolved tarnished copper from pennies and used the particles to transform a steel nail’s surface into copper. 🪙Students also learned that the nail isn’t all copper—just the surface!
Hands-on learning like this makes science come alive for our students! 🌟

We’re back with another former LCS student who’s now inspiring the next generation right here at home!
Meet Mrs. Taylor Mull Grant — once a North Brook, West Middle, and West High student, now an EC Preschool Teacher Assistant at North Brook. Inspired by Mrs. Hilary Gantt, who made learning fun and unforgettable (and even taught her how to sew and operate a sewing machine!), Taylor chose to give back to the district that shaped her.
She says, “Working at the school I once attended is like coming home every day. I love helping my students grow, learn, and achieve goals—especially those they were once told they couldn’t reach.” 💛

A special shoutout to the West Lincoln High School cheerleaders for bringing the energy and helping us make the day unforgettable! 📣💡

September reminds us that every day matters—whether you’re learning in the classroom or leading from the front of it.
✅ For students, daily attendance builds confidence, keeps learning on track, and opens the door to future opportunities.
✅ For staff, showing up every day demonstrates dedication, teamwork, and care for our school community.
Strong schools start with strong attendance—for everyone. Let’s keep encouraging one another to show up, stay present, and make every day count!
💙 Thank you for being part of the #LincolnEffect. Together, we rise!

At this week’s meeting, we were proud to recognize some outstanding achievements in our #WeAreLINCOLN family:
🎨 Pumpkin Primary was celebrated for its new Leader in Me mural, beautifully painted by Candee Masters.
📚 Pumpkin Intermediate Media Coordinator, Ms. Cyndi Moore, was honored for receiving the Laura Bush Foundation Grant for America’s Libraries—a tremendous achievement that will benefit our students for years to come.
Five students from both Pumpkin Primary and Pumpkin Intermediate led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, reminding us why we do what we do each day.
We are grateful for our schools, staff, and students who continue to inspire us with their leadership, creativity, and dedication! 💙🍎

In art class with Mrs. Anzalone at St. James Elementary, students are learning all about lines, angles, and the work of architects. Using rulers, they’re designing their very own houses — blending creativity with precision! 🎨💡

At Lincoln County Schools, we know that showing up matters—for students and for staff.
📚 When students come to school every day, they build strong learning habits, deepen relationships, and stay on track for success.
💼 When adults show up to work, they model commitment, reliability, and pride in our school community.
This month, let’s celebrate the power of presence—because every day counts, and attendance is the first step toward achievement.
🙌 Thank you to our students, teachers, and staff who make the choice to show up each day! Together, we create the Lincoln Effect.
