The 8th grade Washington D.C. trip is rapidly approaching! There is a mandatory meeting on Monday, September 14th for parents of students going on the trip. It will be at 5:30 in the gym.
As we reflected on the 2025–2026 school year, we were incredibly proud of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community for the hard work, dedication, and commitment they demonstrated throughout the year.

To remember the September 11th attacks on our country, WLMS is encouraging students and staff to wear red, white, and blue this Friday.
It's fall picture time! Carolina Photography will be at West Lincoln Middle School to take fall pictures on September 17th. Every student will be photographed for the yearbook.
You have three convenient ways to order your students' portraits:
1. Pre-Order Online through picture day: Visit www.carolinaphoto.net/order-photos and enter your school’s name.
2. Day-of Payment: Send the completed flyer with cash or check payment to school to be handed to the photographer on picture day.
3. After picture day-Proof: Once pre-orders are delivered (approximately two weeks after picture day), you will receive individual proofs with an online code for online ordering.

Thank you to FF Boston, FF Haynes, and FF Gilbert with Howard's Creek Fire Department for training 6th grade Science students on the proper way to use a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. This is a great culminating activity for our lab safety unit, and the kids really enjoyed it!

WLMS was one of 220 schools from 38 states across the country to receive a $5,000 grant through the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries. Our library will use the funds to update and diversify our collection. Libraries help open doors far beyond the classroom, giving children the resources they need to dream, explore, and be bold,” said Mrs. Bush. “When we support school libraries, we are encouraging students to be strong readers and lifelong learners.”

Cheerleading Tryouts for the '26-'27 academic year are next week!
WLMS dropped a heartbreaker to ELMS Wednesday evening 8-7. Our Chiefs peppered the baseball all over the field and batted .500 for the game. Offensively, the Chiefs were led by Hunter Chapman who went 3 for 3 with a homerun. Multiple players collected 2 hits each. Pax Hood came in to relieve Austin Myers on the mound and pitched well. Although the Chiefs were on the losing end tonight, they will dig deep and play good ball moving forward.
