The Book Fair is coming next week! Family Night will be Tuesday from 5-8 at school, come and be the first ones to shop. Students will be shopping during their regular library class from Nov. 6-No.v 14. Thank you all for supporting our library! The funds raised from our book fair help us purchase new books and make updates to our library. I absolutely love seeing our students’ excitement when new books arrive—and even more when they’re enjoying them and sharing their favorites with friends!

Join us as we show our appreciation for the veterans in Western North Carolina! We’re collecting items to donate to the Asheville VA Medical Center and Community Care Center. ❤️💙
📦 Please bring all donations to the front office by November 25, 2025.
Each grade level is collecting specific items:
🍫 Kindergarten: Hot chocolate or spiced cider (individual packets)
🍋 1st Grade: Powdered lemonade drinks (individual packets)
🍰 2nd Grade: Little Debbie–type snacks (individually wrapped)
🖍️ 3rd Grade: 10–12 count packs of colored pencils or sketchpads
🖊️ 4th Grade: Ink pens with nonremovable caps
📓 5th Grade: Composition books or journals (no spiral bound)

🚌💛 Safety never takes a back seat!
Our St. James bus gals showed students how to Sit, Grab, and Slide during today’s School Bus Safety Drill. Students practiced how to exit safely and what to do in an emergency because knowing what to do keeps everyone safe!

Exciting News for the Villages of Denver!
The Villages of Denver neighborhood has a new school bus — Bus 142!
We’re excited for this addition to our fleet and appreciate everyone’s help in keeping it clean and well cared for. Please remind students to show pride in their new bus by treating it with respect and following all bus expectations.

On Thursday, October 31st, students can wear their fun, school-appropriate costumes to school. We’re excited to celebrate a safe and festive day full of creativity and smiles!
