Lincoln County Schools is hosting a School Mobile Pantry on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Schools Board of Education (201 Jeb Seagle Dr., Lincolnton, NC 28092). Stop by to pick up produce, meat, and dairy items for your family. Massey Elementary students Keith and Gianni Poston and their dad, Keith Poston, Executive Director of Hesed House of Hope in Lincolnton. When Keith thinks about how school prepared him for the work he does today, he doesn’t first think about a class or textbook. He thinks about people. “I was fortunate to have teachers and coaches who taught me lessons that reached far beyond the classroom or the field. They showed me the power of building genuine relationships, the importance of providing guidance, and the impact that mentoring can have on a person’s life.” They also taught him perseverance — a lesson that continues to guide him today. “When you believe in something, you stay committed to it even when obstacles arise and the path becomes difficult. You keep showing up. You keep working. You keep believing that what you are doing can make a difference.” Now, Keith has the opportunity to do for others what those educators once did for him — walk alongside people, encourage them through difficult moments and help them recognize what is possible. What a great first week of school! 🎉 It has been fantastic welcoming our students back and seeing classrooms filled with enthusiasm, learning, and new connections.

Throughout the week, students jumped right into learning by:

Setting Goals: Establishing classroom expectations and building a positive learning community.

Exploring New Topics: Getting hands-on with engaging lessons across all subjects.

Connecting with Peers: Making new friends and settling into their daily routines.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, wonderful students, and supportive families for helping us start the year on such a positive note. We can't wait to see all the growth ahead this year!
