It is time for a Penny War! From March 17 to March 30, GEM PTA is hosting a fundraiser to raise money for Field Day. The rules are simple: add pennies and bills to your own grade's jar to gain points, or "sabotage" other grades by dropping silver coins in their jars to subtract points. The grade level with the most points at the end of the war wins a pizza party!

Point Breakdown:
Add points with Pennies (1), $1 bills (100), $5 bills (500), $10 bills (1000), and $20 bills (2000).
Subtract points from rivals with Nickels (5), Dimes (10), Quarters (25), and Silver Dollars (100).
Check your change and let the games begin!

February is Love the Bus Month
February is our month of appreciation, and we need your help to make it special. Each year, our community sends about 1,500 thank-you messages to Lincoln County Schools staff members, and every single one is printed and delivered. These notes mean more than you realize, and many are saved long after February ends. If a teacher, bus driver, custodian, office staff member, cafeteria worker, or any other staff member has made a difference for you or your child, take a moment to let them know. It only takes a minute, but it can make someone’s whole day. Send a message of appreciation: https://forms.gle/DfwomAYZbFSLtw3n7 #WeAreLINCOLN #SpreadTheLove

📚 Snow Day? Perfect Reading Day! ❄️

Since we’re home today because of dangerous road conditions, this is a great time to curl up, stay warm, and enjoy a good book! Families can access thousands of digital books and audiobooks through Libby—all from home.

✨ No Chromebook required! Libby works on phones, tablets, computers, and many e-readers, so students can read or listen on whatever device they have available.

To get started:

1️⃣ Download the Libby app or visit the Libby website.

2️⃣ Tap “Add a Library” and enter your zip code.

3️⃣ Look for NC Kids Digital Library (K–5) and NC Kids Level Up (3–8). You can add both!

4️⃣ Choose “Sign in with my card.”

5️⃣ Select Lincoln County.

6️⃣ Enter the student’s school ID number for the card number.

7️⃣ The password is the last 4 digits of the student ID.

Once logged in, students will have instant access to thousands of ebooks and audiobooks—including titles that may not be available in our school library.

🎧 Don’t forget the audiobooks! They’re perfect for listening while relaxing, building Legos, drawing, or staying cozy with a blanket and hot cocoa.

Stay safe, stay warm, and happy reading! 📖💙

Pack pride was in full force today! Our 1st grade pups trotted over to Lincolnton High School for the "Building Our Pack" initiative, and the Fall Crawl was pawsitively amazing—treats, games, and all the fall fun! But here's where it got really good: watching our high schoolers look at these bouncing bundles of energy and think, "Wow, that was me!" Meanwhile, our little ones stared up at the big kids like they were actual celebrities, dreaming about the day they'd be the cool high schoolers (which will be here before we can blink). It's moments like these that show what pack life is all about—we're all on the same adventure, just running at different speeds!
