Ms. Nutt's 11th-grade American Lit classes are studying Transcendentalism, reading Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, among others. Core beliefs are solace and wisdom in nature, celebrating individualism, and learning to question instead of taking answers at face value. Today, we had the honor of welcoming Hallie Black, last year’s Valedictorian, to speak with West Lincoln students about her journey from a rural community to studying at Yale University, where she is currently a freshman. Hallie shared valuable insights about the college admissions and application process, financial aid opportunities, and life on a college campus. She also answered students’ questions about preparing for the SAT and ACT, the benefits of AP and CCP courses, and how to stand out when writing college essays. Thank you, Hallie, for returning to West Lincoln and for such an inspiring and informative talk!
