Picture Day Reminder for September 29th
Our Eagles had a BIG surprise waiting for them this morning! An axolotl and Mr. Potato Head showed up to greet students as they arrived and help announce that TODAY was our Surprise Attendance Day, and our Eagles who were at school got quite the reward! Students and staff had a blast throwing water balloons at Mr. Oakes and Dr. Wright! And you know what? Every laugh, every smile, and every soaked outfit made it completely worth it!

While today was all about having a little fun, our attendance celebrations carry an important message: we love having our Eagles at school! Every day brings new learning, time with friends and teachers, special experiences, and opportunities to grow. Being here each day helps students stay connected to their learning and build on all the great things happening in their classrooms.

Thank you to our families for partnering with us and making school attendance a priority whenever your child is healthy and able to attend. Your support makes a difference! Keep showing up, Eagles - we LOVE having you here!

Keep watch; pictures and video to come!!

Our Pre-K students had a fun-filled day learning all about apples and Johnny Appleseed! Students put on their scientist hats as they watched an apple science experiment and made observations. They also put their taste buds to work by sampling different foods made with apples or apple flavoring. What a fun way to explore, discover, and learn through their senses! We love seeing our littlest Eagles excited about learning!

Our first graders wrapped up their week of learning about community helpers by dressing as their favorite community helper today! Throughout the week, students have been reading Places in My Neighborhood and making connections between the story and their own community. After reading, students identified places they recognized from their own neighborhoods, including stores, police stations, schools, fire stations, doctors' offices, and homes. We love seeing our Eagles make real-world connections to what they read and learn in the classroom!

Mrs. Webb's class has been working hard this week on problem-solving with math word problems! Students have been reading carefully, identifying important information, choosing strategies, and explaining their mathematical thinking.

And when your math word problems are about salsa verde, there's only one way to wrap up the learning...with chips and salsa verde snack! We love seeing our Eagles make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and the world around them. Way to think, problem-solve, and GLOW!

Mrs. Ramsey's students took their learning 3D with a fun, hands-on math activity! Students explored the attributes of 3D shapes by using Play-Dog and toothpicks to build their own models. As they created, they were able to see, touch, and explore how the different parts of each shape work together. What a great way to turn math into an opportunity to create, explore, problem-solve, and GROW!

Our Eagles in Mrs. Flood's class were putting their reading skills to work as they practiced identifying the characters and setting in their story today. Students were engaged in great conversations during Turn & Talk, shared predictions about what might happen next, and used inferencing skills to determine the setting. They even provided evidence from the story to explain the clues that helped them identify the characters!

We love seeing our Eagles thinking, talking, and learning together as they grow into confident readers!

We are excited to announce that BUS 23 is our BUS of the MONTH for August! Bus 23 earned this recognition by having the most Bus Leader Tickets turned in during August! Our Eagles were spotted being leaders on the bus by:
*Waiting safely at their bus stops
*Sitting safely in their seats and remaining seated until the bus stopped
*Staying out of the aisle
*Keeping items zipped safely inside their backpacks

We are so proud of our students for showing that LEADERSHIP doesn't stop when we leave the classroom or school building. A special shout-out to Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Taylor, Bus 23 drivers, for helping make safety, responsibility, and leadership a priority every day!

Keep leading, Eagles! Let's see which bus will GLOW next!!
