Our 5th graders had a fantastic time visiting North Lincoln Middle School! A huge thank you to NLMS for welcoming our students and providing a wonderful tour of the campus and media center. It was a great day of learning and exploration as these students prepare for middle school.

A wide-angle, back-view of a large group of students seated in rows of black folding chairs and wooden library chairs. They are gathered in a school media center or library, facing a large television screen that displays a photo of three people.
Registration is underway for North Lincoln Middle School. Lincoln County Schools is coordinating site specific information that will be communicated directly by each middle school in partnership with the feeder elementary schools. Middle schools will share spring family tour and info night opportunities, though teacher names and class lists won't be available at these events.
The timeline is as follows:
February: Middle School Visits to Elementary. Middle school counselors and staff will visit feeder elementary schools to address student questions about middle school and share site-specific opportunities. Parents will receive information about elective options.
March: Elementary Visits to Middle School. Elementary students will tour their feeder middle schools and observe Elective classes. They will also select their top preferred electives, though options are not guaranteed and may change due to availability. All students will be scheduled in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, PE/Health, and 1 or 2 electives.
April/May: Parent & Guardian Visits Middle School.
May: Look for registration information via email, NLMS website, or social media for the August Rising 6th Grade JumpStart event.
Mid-June: Students will receive advanced class eligibility letters via mail.
August: Schedules & Teachers Online. Students and families can view their schedules and teachers in Infinite Campus mid-August. However, schedules, teachers, and teams won't be final until Open House, and any information seen before then is subject to change as schools finalize class assignments.

Our students enjoyed a special visit from guest readers yesterday as we celebrated the first day of Read Across America Week! Our classrooms were filled with excitement as district staff joined us to share some of their favorite books with our students. We are so grateful to have a team that is always willing to go the extra mile to support our learners and inspire the next generation of readers!

This Friday, March 6th, is the end of the grading period. All remote learning work must be turned in by Friday afternoon to count for your child's grade. We hope these reminders help you plan your week and help our students finish the quarter strong!
