Good Evening Iron Station Family,
I want to provide you with some information for this school week! I have a special visitor with me today! Mr. Cason Sapp, a first-grade student, is going to help me with our Sunday Message.
Please remember, there will be no school for students on Monday and Tuesday, October 14th and 15th. These are workdays for staff and there will be no school for students.
The Make-Up date for Fall Pictures is Thursday, October 17th.
Report Cards will go home with students on Monday, October 21st.

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students will take their first NC Check-In Assessment for this school year, starting at the end of October. This week is National School Lunch Week! We are so thankful for our amazing Cafeteria Staff!
On Tuesday, October 8th, fourth-grade students will be traveling to Hart Square for their field trip!
Our Monster Mash Curriculum Bash will be on Tuesday, October 29th from 5:30-7:00 PM. If you plan to attend, please use the link below to RSVP. We ask that you RSVP by October 8th.

Bus 87 is having mechanical difficulty at the moment. We do have another bus on its way. Please be advised there will be delays beyond one hour with Bus 87 stop times this morning.
Good Evening Iron Station Family,
I hope this finds you and your family safe and doing well after last Friday's devastating storm. I apologize for being unable to send out my typical Sunday message.
We are excited to have our students back in our building tomorrow. We will operate on a 1-hour delay. If your student is a bus rider, the bus will run 1 hour later than normal time. For example, if your normal stop time is 6:30 AM, the bus will arrive at 7:30 AM tomorrow. Breakfast will still be served tomorrow morning. Our wonderful cafeteria staff will try their best to follow the monthly menu, but a different option may sometimes be served.
Tomorrow is Custodian Appreciation Day! We truly have three of the best! Please remind students to tell them how much they are appreciated tomorrow!
I know many of you have worried about missing the deadline for turning in the Walk-A-Thon money. Don't stress at all! Our PTO has extended the deadline to Friday, October 4th. We have postponed the Walk-A-Thon. It will now be held on Friday, October 11th.
Please remember there will be no All Pro Dads Breakfast this week. It will be held on October 11th at 7:30 AM.
Several field trips have been canceled this week. 5th Graders will no longer be traveling to the Lincoln County School of Tech. We will inform you of the make-up date as soon as possible. Mrs. Queen's class will no longer be traveling to B & B Farms. More information will be sent home concerning this trip.
We will be collecting items to send to Burnsville, NC. This is a small town north of Asheville and is in Yancey County. They experienced devastating loss after the Hurricane. The Eastern Schools are doing a drive to collect some much-needed items. Iron Station will be collecting paper plates, cups, and plasticware. We will also be collecting bottled water. Please donate and share as you are able.

Our school will be collecting Bottled Water (Small bottles, gallons, etc.) and Paper Plates, Cups & Plasticware to send to Burnsville, NC. This a smaller town that suffered devastating loss from Hurricane Helene. If you are able to share or donate, every little bit helps.

Lincoln County Schools will be closed for students Tuesday, October 1 due to power outages and damages from Hurricane Helene. Staff will operate on an optional workday; check your email for updates from your principal.

The library fundraiser has been a huge success! Thank you so much for your support. More prizes are coming for those who did not receive them Thursday or Friday. White envelopes with codes should be turned in by Friday, September 27 to receive a Book Buddy prize.

I want to provide you with some information for this school week! I have a very special visitor here with me today! Landrie Lineberger, a third-grade student here at Iron Station, is here to help me today!
There will be no school on Tuesday, September 24th. This is Parent/Teacher Conference Day! I hope everyone has been on their best behavior.
Thursday, September 26th is National PTO Day. We are so thankful for our PTO and all that they do for our school!
Don't forget about the Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser. The deadline is in less than two weeks. Donations can be collected in the form of cash, checks, or via Paypal. For Paypal donations, please make sure that the student's name(s) are typed in the notes section of the donation so we know who it is for. All money and boards must be turned in by this Friday, September 27th to be eligible for prizes.
We cannot wait to begin another wonderful week of school! We are thankful to have you all as part of our Iron Station Family!
