Good evening, Iron Station families!

This is Mrs. Gilbert with your weekly update. We’ve had a wonderful first full week of school. Students have already begun learning and reviewing the 7 Habits of the Leader in Me , and we are excited to see them put these habits into action as they continue on the track for success this school year. Here are some reminders for the week ahead:

We welcome our pre-K students for staggered days on the 27th and 28th.  Pre-K students are dropped off and picked up at the back of the school.  I encourage everyone to please use caution when traveling on our school drive to ensure safety.

On Tuesday, August 25th our third grade students will be taking their Beginning of Grade reading test.  Please help by making sure your child receives a good night's rest, is present and on time on Tuesday.

Also, on Tuesday, August 25th our Third Grade teachers will host a 3rd grade parent night starting at 5pm in our Media Center.  This is a great time to learn about 3rd grade routines and expectations, North Carolina Read to Achieve requirements, and how to support your student at home.

5th Grade Teachers will host a parent night on Thursday, August 27th at 5pm in our Media Center.  Learn about 5th grade curriculum, expectations, and how to support them during their learning this school year.

PTO invites members and potential members to their PTO in the Park event on Thursday, August 27th between 5:15pm - 6pm on the front playground.  Great time to stop by and learn more about how the PTO supports the school

We invite you to check out our Title I documents posted on our school webpage. These resources highlight how we will work together to bridge learning between school and home through family engagement, academic support, and strong school–home partnerships. Your involvement is an important part of helping every student succeed!

Reminder the two apps to help you stay connected with school are the Lincoln County Schools app - this is the one you will see postings from the school and your child’s teacher.  As well as, be able to send messages to your child's teacher.  Then Infinite Campus parent portal - which you should have received email with authorization key to set up if you are new or should have same login from last year if you are returning.  This one allows you to see absences, student information, and grades.

Thank you again for your support and for helping us make this year the best one yet. Have a great evening, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
