🍎✨ National Principals Month Spotlight ✨🍎
Today we’re celebrating Mrs. Carroll, principal of St. James Elementary School! 🎉
Mrs. Carroll’s journey has taken her through Catawba College, UNC-Chapel Hill, and App State, and along the way she has inspired countless students and staff. Her favorite advice? “You have to find happiness within yourself, do not rely on others to make you happy.” 💡
From never cheering for Duke 🙃 to being chosen by Michael Jordan for a basketball relay game, Mrs. Carroll’s story is full of surprises and fun! Most importantly, she loves what she does every single day—and it shows in the smiles of her students and staff. ❤️
Help us thank Mrs. Carroll for her leadership, passion, and dedication! 👏 #WeAreLINCOLN #NationalPrincipalsMonth #StJamesKnights

🌎 Breaking Language Barriers at Lincolnton Middle!
In Mrs. Ashley Todd’s ELA classroom, students are using Timekettle earbuds to support multilingual learners through real-time translation during lessons, discussions, and group work.
💬 A student who is still learning English can now hear the teacher’s instructions and classmates’ comments in their native language, helping them participate more confidently and engage more fully in classroom activities.
🎧 This innovation is made possible through a grant funded by the Lincoln County Public Education Foundation — thank you for helping our students feel included, understood, and empowered! 💫

🔬 Hands-on STEM at E.L. Middle!
Mr. Hamlin’s students put their problem-solving skills to the test with a real-world scenario: “Your friend falls out of a tree and their arm looks strange—what could you use to create a brace until help arrives?” 🩹💡
Working in teams, students brainstormed, designed, and tested creative solutions using everyday materials — applying science, engineering, and critical thinking to real-life challenges. 👏

💛💙 It’s National Principals Month, and today we’re recognizing Mrs. Beam, principal of S. Ray Lowder Elementary!
From leading with energy to cheering on her students and staff, Mrs. Beam is all about school spirit and community. Fun fact: she was a cheerleader at WCU for all four years of college — so she knows a thing or two about keeping up the momentum! 📣
Her favorite advice? “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” She lives that out every day by making her school a welcoming, encouraging place for everyone who walks through the doors.
When she’s not leading the Lions, you might catch her at Lake James with her family or laughing at her favorite “Success Kid” memes. (And if there were ever a remake of Bring It On… well, we know who’d be cast! 😉)
Drop a note below to thank Mrs. Beam for all she does for the students and staff at S. Ray Lowder! 🦁

October is AAC Awareness Month! AAC or Augmentative and Alternative Communication are the laminated communication boards and devices that people who are minimally or nonspeaking use to communicate. In order to learn that AAC can be their voice, children have to see adults around them “modeling” or touching the boards/devices while they talk. This teaches children that they can use AAC to ask for things, comment and form friendships!
All October, the Assistive Technology Team and Autism Support Team are excited to present a competition to encourage staff to model AAC with students!
This competition is for staff at Love Memorial Elementary, Norris Childers Elementary, Iron Station Elementary, Pumpkin Center Primary and Intermediate Schools.
Staff who use AAC with minimally and nonspeaking children are counting the number of times they model AAC and at the end of the week the staff member with the highest count will receive a prize! Generous businesses in our community have donated items and gift cards to make this event a success!
The competition began on October 1st and we already have our first winner of the week! Lincoln County School’s first Top Modeler is Kelly Michael! Congratulations! Kelly is an EC teacher at Iron Station Elementary School.
Thank you for all you do for your students to support their right to communicate!
Our other modeling superstars this week are:
-Lea Nash, Pumpkin Center Primary
-Gena Wright, Pumpkin Center Primary
-Kaitlyn Petruska, Love Memorial
-Lia Curtis, Pumpkin Center Primary
Keep following to see who will be our Next Top Modeler!

🌟 National Principals Month! 🌟
Please join us again in congratulating Mrs. Dellinger, Principal of Union Elementary, on recently being named the Lincoln County Schools District Principal of the Year! 🎉
Mrs. Dellinger has always known she wanted to be a teacher, and her passion for education shines through in everything she does. She leads with encouragement, positivity, and a commitment to her staff, students, and community. Her favorite advice, “Stay true to who you are and never give up!” is something she models daily for her school family.
Outside of school, she loves riding 4-wheelers with her boys and has never broken a bone! (And if Hollywood ever called, you’d catch her starring in The Little Rascals remake. 😉)
We are so proud of Mrs. Dellinger and thankful for the way she represents Union Elementary and all of Lincoln County Schools. Drop a note below to congratulate her on this well-deserved honor! ❤️🦉

🌟 It’s National Principals Month, and today we’re celebrating Mrs. Arndt, interim principal of North Lincoln Middle!
Mrs. Arndt has a heart for students, a passion for learning, and a gift for spreading positivity. She’s the first in her family to graduate from college and earn a Master’s degree — a true role model for perseverance and grit. 💙
When she’s not leading Panthers at NLMS, she’s enjoying time with her husband and children, dreaming of traveling, and laughing at her favorite “Office” memes. And fun fact: as a child, she once thought she’d grow up to be a country music singer! 🎤
Her favorite advice? “Confidence is key! Positivity and kindness are contagious — but so is negativity and pessimism. I get to choose what I want to help spread.” Every day, she chooses to spread the good.
Drop a note of appreciation below and help us thank Mrs. Arndt for all she does to make North Lincoln Middle a special place! 🐾
