Stacy Pruitt Recognized by the Board of Education as a History Recipient for the Arts & Science Council Cato Excellence in Teaching Award and VFW Teacher of the Year
Stacy Pruitt, 6th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at Lincolnton Middle School, was recognized by the Board of Education at the September 12, 2017 meeting.
Ms. Pruitt was selected as a History recipient for the Arts & Science Council Cato Excellence in Teaching Award. The Cato Corporation has generously provided funding to underwrite the initiative to honor exceptionally creative teachers who have distinguished themselves in teaching the Arts, Sciences, and History or who have demonstrated creative infusion of the Arts, Sciences, and History into core curriculum. Winners will receive a cash prize, an original piece of art to commemorate their achievement, and a special Innovation Institute professional development opportunity at the McColl Center for Art and Innovation.
Ms. Pruitt was also selected as the VFW Teacher of the Year. She was honored as the Lincolnton post winner and the district winner. She received a certificate of recognition, a plaque, and a cash award.
