Have you ever thought about becoming an Engineer or Architect? Drafting is a major concentration for both careers!
Students get to work with the latest CAD sorftware, and work towards becoming a certified AutoDesk CAD user. LCST offers a Drafting 1 class where students build a basic knowledge of how to view, sketch, and model 2D and 3D objects. Drafting 1 students learn the AutoDesk AutoCAD software with an oppertunity to gain an AutoCAD certification. Upon completion of Drafting 1 students at LCST have the option to take Drafting 2 Engineering and/or Drafting 2 Architecture both courses have their own certifiable software too. Engineering uses the AutoDesk Inventor software, and Architecture uses the AutoDesk Revit sortware. Students in engineering learn to correctly 3D model objects and parts with the ability to 3D print some of their work! Students in architecture get to design and produce blueprints for a residential home. Honors courses are also available for drafting one, engineering, and architecture, a great oppertunity to earn some community college credit while in high school!
