Mr. Greg Sides
Hi, I am a native of Lincolnton NC. I also graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1985 where I participated in the automotive program for two years. I also participated in the NC Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) competition my senior year. After LHS I enroled and graduated from Catawba Valley Technical College with an automotive degree. In 1986 I started my career in the automotive field as a mechanic and during that period of time I was able to obtain ASE Certifications and became a Master ASE Mechanic as well as Master Chevrolet Mechanic in electrical systems. In 1996 an opportunity came available for me to become a Shop Forman/Assistant Service Manager for Chevrolet. In 1997 I was promoted to Service Manager where I managed all the Service Department operations. In 2003 I became General Manager of a Tire and Automotive repair facility in Lincolnton where I stayed till 2014. During that period I also served as a Board Member for the North CarolinaTire Dealers Association from 2010-2014. In 2014 I became the Automotive Instructor for Lincoln County Schools. I also started teaching at Gaston College and CVCC as a NC Vehicle Inspections Instructor. I look at my career pathway and I feel I have much to give back to students as they prepare for a career in the automotive field. Being in the tire industry I recognized the need for training for the industry so I went through training from TIA (National Tire Board) and became an Automotive Tire Service Advanced Instructor. This 2019/2020 school year I will be beginning my 6th year teaching at Lincoln County School of Technology.
