Welcome to Second Grade!

                My name is Lori Matney.  I have been teaching for twenty-eight years.  Part of my teaching career was at Union Elementary.  I had a wonderful time teaching second, third, and fifth grades with an awesome staff!  When our school became too large, part of our staff moved to Norris S. Childers -The newest school in our county in 2006.  Therefore, I have been at Childers for 14 years.  For the first four years I taught fifth grade.  After that, I was able to move to the grade I love most, second grade.

         I wear many hats besides being a teacher at Norris S. Childers.  I have a wonderful husband of twenty-eight years, Tim.  I have two awesome children, Tryston and Leah.  Tryston graduated from Appalachian State College with a degree in accounting.  Leah is in twelfth grade at WLHS and is active in many sports.  Besides being a wife and mom, I teach swimming, Sunday school, and I am actively involved in my church, Anthony Grove Baptist.   I also enjoy drawing, painting, photography, and crafts.
