Title One Reading

My name is Kylie Richardson.  

I am the Title One Reading Specialist at Norris S. Childers Elementary School.  

I serve students in Kindergarten - 5th grade.

Here are a few facts about me:

I graduated from West Lincoln High School in 2004.  

I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University in 2008.  Go Mountaineers!!  

I have previously taught second grade and fourth grade.

After teaching for a while, I decided to go back to school to pursue a Master's degree in Reading Education.  I received my Master's degree from Appalachian State as well.

I love to help students learn to read!  I am very passionate about helping struggling readers become confident and successful.  I work hard to meet the needs of all of my students.

I personally like to read mysteries, historical fiction novels, and stories about true events.  My favorite authors are Ruta Sepetys and Jeannette Walls.

I am an animal lover!  I have two dogs named Bella and Boomer.

I love to go camping, swimming, kayaking, and snowtubing.

I go to Gainsville Baptist Church.  I'm in charge of Vacation Bible School, the Christmas play, and I teach Sunday School.
