Mrs. Melanie Emory
My name is Melanie Emory and this is my 27th year teaching. I have spent 25 of those years in kindergarten. I am a proud alumni of East Carolina University where I received my Bachelor of Science with a concentration in reading. Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach because they are so excited and experience enormous growth during the year. I am married and have three children. In my spare time I love to read, cook, shop and travel.
My assistant is Ms. Tina Rash. She has been with Lincoln County Schools since 1999. She is such an asset to our classroom. She is married and has a son that is a teacher with Lincoln County Schools as well. She also has two grandsons that are the loves of her life. In her spare time she loves to read, go camping and follow the LHS Wolves.
Ms. Rash and I are excited to begin a new school year and meet lots of new friends. During the school day your child will read, sing, write, play, count, talk and have new experiences. Our goal for your student is that share many new experiences, make new friends, engage in learning activities and become problem solvers. We are busy every day!!!
Battleground Elementary welcomes you to Open House on Monday, August 14from 5-7. This is a ¨drop in¨ event.
Staggered Enrollment is Wednesday, August 16, Thursday, August 17 and Friday August 18. Your child will be assigned one of those days. On this day your child will arrive at school at 8:30 with a parent/guardian. We will do a brief orientation about kindergarten and answer any questions you may have. This should last about 45 minutes. At this point, you will leave and your child will stay the remainder of the day. All of our students will join our classroom on Monday, August 21..
