Hello, and welcome to Mrs. Belk's webpage!  I am so excited about beginning my 34th year of teaching!  

I graduated from Wingate College in 1990 and earned my Master's in Elementary Education from Winthrop University in 1994.  In 2001, I achieved National Board Certification, renewing that certificate in 2011 and 2020.  After several years of teaching in grades 3, 4, and 5, I really began to take an interest in teaching gifted children.  In order to better serve my gifted students, I earned my AIG License from Western Carolina University in 2012.  It was my best decision ever!  I finally was able to begin my dream job as an AIG teacher in January 2015.

I work with students at Battleground Elementary on Mondays and Tuesdays, and at Iron Station on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. 

I live in Lincolnton with my husband, Randy.  We have two children, Chris (28) and Macie (25). We have a wonderful, 18-year-old cat, Grace, and an incredibly rude dog, Mollie (who is 16). I enjoy traveling, family time, biking, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, playing pickleball, flower gardening, reading, baking, shopping, jigsaw and logic puzzles, playing board games, and meeting new people!
