Hello! My name is Amanda Summit. I am the 6th grade science teacher for the Hornets team. I have been a teacher for 10 years and I have taught 2nd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. Science is my favorite subject to teach! I taught 6th grade science at ELMS during the 2021-2022 school year. I am very thankful for the opportunity to return to this year! 

I grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina. I graduated in 2013 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. 

I live in Lincolnton with my husband, Josh, our two-year-old son, Austin, and our Goldendoodle, Gunner. My hobbies include reading, cooking, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball! 

Parents and students can keep up with assignments by visiting Google Classroom. All assignments are posted daily. Grades will be updated in PowerSchool weekly. My planning time is 1:30-2:45 daily. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
