Dr. Cale Sain

Dr. Sain was appointed the Principal of the School of Technology and Director of Career Technical Education in 2014. He began his career with Lincoln County Schools in 1998 and has served as a teacher at East Lincoln High, Assistant Principal at Love Memorial Elementary (2003-2004) and Lincolnton High Schools (2004-2008) and Principal of East Lincoln (2008-2011) and West Lincoln High Schools (2011-2014). Dr. Sain earned his BA in Political Science and Sociology from UNC Charlotte and MA in School Administration and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
During his time as Principal of LCST and Director of Career Technical Education, both LCST and CTE enrollment have grown, academic proficiency has increased and more students are participating in work-based learning opportunities. In addition, several new programs have been initiated (Adobe Academy, Advanced Manufacturing Academy, Project Lead the Way Engineering, AP Computer Science Principles, ProStart, Apparel and Interior Design Academy and the Fire Fighter Academy). Dr. Sain is most excited about the academic and technical programs CTE and LCST provide for students and the opportunity for students to prepare for the future. From immediate placement in the job market to preparation for all levels of post-secondary education, Career Technical Education offers something for ALL students.
Dr. Sain’s wife is a first grade teacher at Union School and their three children (Caleb, Ella Kathryn and Carter) are Lincoln County Schools students. Dr. Sain and his family attend Bethphage Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC.
