LMS Morning News Crew
What does the LMS Morning News Crew do? The News Crew is responsible for creating and producing the morning broadcast, which includes school announcements, the Pledge of Allegiance and occasional special productions. They run the equipment, do the actual broadcasting, and gather news and announcements from around the school. Sometimes, crew members are asked to help create special productions.
The ideal news crew member is responsible, a team player, articulate, able to complete tasks independently, and committed to arriving in the media center by 7:45 every morning to prepare for the broadcast.
There are several jobs to be performed by the crew (anchor; camera operator; teleprompter technician; producer; technical director). Crew members must be willing to learn all the jobs and be able to be in the media center by 7:45 AM during their crew shift (barring late buses). Crews are selected each year on the basis of the job application and references given.
