My name is J. Kyle Pierce.  I am so excited about "getting back to my roots", teaching 8th-grade science here at NLMS.  I began my career over 20 years ago teaching 8th-grade science and coaching football and softball in East Texas.  After my wife and I welcomed our 1st daughter into this world, we chose to move closer to her family here in NC.  Since moving to NC, I have been fortunate to serve my community as a science teacher (oceanography, EES, and AP environmental science), coach, bus driver, assistant principal, and principal.  I am a Nationally Board certified science teacher whose teaching philosophy revolves around making students' education memorable, pushing them to make connections in their everyday lives.  Most importantly, though, have fun along the way. 

When I am not teaching or working at the school, I can typically be found celebrating life, spending time with my beautiful family hiking, camping, and traveling.
