• MTSS Mission

Supported by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Lincoln County Schools, implements a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is a multi-tiered framework which promotes school improvement through engaging, research-based academic and behavioral practices. MTSS employs a systems approach using data-driven problem solving to maximize growth for all.  Additionally, Lincoln County Schools use a Multi-Tiered System of Support to ensure college, career and community readiness for all students.

Lincoln County Schools believe that MTSS is the most effective and efficient approach to improving school outcomes and student performance thereby ensuring equitable access to a sound basic education. Clearly defined support for academics and behavior/social-emotional skills are essential in an MTSS.
