Mrs. Shanti A. Clancy
My name is Shanti Clancy and I am enjoying my 6th year as Principal at St. James Elementary School.
I grew up in Farmington Hills, MI and moved to North Carolina to attend Appalachian State University - GO MOUNTAINEERS! I graduated in 2002 and was hired to teach 3rd grade at S. Ray Lowder Elementary. After four years I moved closer to home and taught both 1st and 4th grades at Rock Springs Elementary. In December of 2009 I was married and graduated with my Master's from Appalachian. I finished my 8th year teaching and was hired at North Brook Elementary as an Assistant Principal. After four years, I was then hired as Principal of St. James.
My husband, Patrick and I have two sons. Finnegan is eight and Kellan is five. We have a kitty named Captain and a puppy named Sailor! My hobbies are hand lettering and photography. My passion is education.
I'm very excited this year because my oldest son Finn is in second grade at St. James!
A few of my favorite things:
Colors: Black and White
Drink: Coke Zero or Coffee
Snack: Trail Mix w/ M&Ms
Teams: Panthers and Appalachian
