Ms. Wendy Clark
I'm Ms. Clark and teach Health Science at East Lincoln High.
To give you some background, for the past 2 years, I have taught Health Science at East High. Prior to that, I taught health and fitness for 19 years at North Lincoln Middle School. I have a passion for health and am looking forward to teaching students who also have this passion.
My educational background is from Appalachian State University and my Masters is from the University of Northern Iowa. In 2008, I was NC State Middle School Health Teacher of the Year. For fun, I love to cook, garden, walk, dance, decorate, landscape, camp, exercise, grow in my faith, and spend time with my family.
Health Science is a great opportunity for students who are interested in going into the healthcare field.
The typical course work is to take Foundations of Health Science, which includes medical history, math, terminology, and exploring healthcare careers. This is followed by Health Science I, which includes anatomy, physiology, and first aid. Lastly, students take Health Science II, in which the students make a portfolio along with obtaining several certifications. After these three classes, the students continue their career pathway to the school of tech to finish their CNA or EMT certification.
In addition, I teach a career management class. This is a great class for students who would like to explore more options for the direction of their future.
