Welcome

Hi! I'm Mrs. Heafner. This is my 4th year teaching, all years at St. James. I currently teach 2nd grade, but I have taught 4th grade as well. I have such a passion for teaching and I encourage my students to have a growth mindset and to strive for progress, not perfection. I am so excited for this school year. We are going to have SO much fun and learn a lot!

About Me

I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University in 2020, Go Neers! I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 3 years, but we have been together for 10. We have a daughter named Fallon, she is 18 months old. We have a Goldendoodle named Goose, he is 5 months old. I love to travel! Fun fact: I am a certified scuba diver and have swam with the largest sharks in the world (Whale Sharks)! I enjoy getting my nails done, hiking, and reading in my free time.
