Mr. Greg Franklin
Greg Franklin joined the Mustang faculty in August of 2018 and serves as the director for the Choral Music and Theatre Arts programs. Mr. Franklin joins us from Durham Public Schools where he served as Testing Coordinator for Riverside High School. Prior to his time in Durham, he taught music in Mitchell County Schools from 2003 - 2017, teaching all grade levels of music, both instrumental and choral, and musical theatre. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year at Greenlee Primary School, Deyton Elementary School, and was the 2011 Teacher of the Year for Mitchell County Schools. Mr. Franklin has mentored many students that have gone on to study and work professionally in theatre, and his students excel in competitions at the regional, state, and national levels. In 2014, the Mitchell High Show Choir achieved a state championship title under his direction.
A North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Mr. Franklin attended Western Carolina University where he earned a B.S. In addition to National Board Certification, he holds licensure in music, theatre arts, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, and school administration.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Mustang family and look forward to the continued growth of both the Choral Music and Theatre Arts programs. I hope to see many new faces this year as friends and family of East Lincoln make their way to the exciting performances scheduled for our students!"
