Mrs. Kristin Fernetti

I am excited about being in my new classroom for the 2022-23 school year.

We will truly be living our new school theme   ... "Adventure Awaits "

I love teaching 2nd grade and can't wait to meet everyone at our Open House on August 24th.

This will be my 23rd year as a teacher in North Carolina! I have worked in Guilford county, Newton Conover, and Lincoln county.  I am happy to be teaching 2nd grade and call Union my home.  I was born and raised in High Point, NC and moved to Lincolnton in 2015.  On my teaching journey I have taught kindergarten, Spanish Immersion kindergarten, first grade, 4th grade ELA , 5th grade ELA, and second grade.  OF COURSE- 2nd grade is my FAVORITE! I love the curriculum, art, technology, hands-on experiences, and the relationships we build as a second grade class.  BEST GRADE EVER!

I am married to Mr. Fernetti.  He is the art teacher at WLHS  &  used to be our art teacher here at Union.  We have a big blended family with our kids.  My children are : Max(18), and Ava-Grace (13).  Mr. Fernetti's two kiddos are Stephen (17), and Adi, (12).  Max recently graduated and is off to UNCC.  Stephen will be in his senior year of high school, and is breaking and setting records in NC for cross country and track.   Ava will be in 8th grade this year.  She loves volleyball and will be working on yearbook staff.  Adi begins middle school this year and is pursuing the West Lincoln route.  She wants to polish those art skills and land in Dad's art classroom again some day! So this will be a big year of adventure for all of us too.

Being a mom and a teacher helps me relate with families.  I know everyone wants the best for their child.  I love this job. I hope that I can make you and your child happy about their growth this year!  I will check my email periodically throughout the day. Feel free to email, call, or send me a message on DOJO any time.
