More information can also be found on the NC Governor's School website.

The North Carolina Governor's School is a 5½-week summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses on each of two campuses. The curriculum focuses on the exploration of the most recent ideas and concepts in each discipline, and does not involve credit, tests, or grades.  This is the nation’s oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted high school students. The program is open to rising seniors only, with exceptions made for rising juniors in selected performing/visual arts areas.  Download the application and recommendation form to apply. See Ms Maxwell for more information.

    TEEN COURT:

Lincoln County has established "Teen Court" and is seeking responsible high school students to serve on the jury and possibly serve as "lawyers" or representatives to teens being referred to the Teen Court.  It is an incredible opportunity for anyone considering Law School or Criminal Justice in their future.  It will look great on applications.  The nice thing about this court system is that schools and law enforcement can refer students to this court and it will not go on their permanent record if they complete the actions assigned to them by the Teen Court.  The Court will meet monthly on a Tuesday evening at the Court House in Lincolnton.  To apply, download the application and informational handout and return to the address included on the application.  See your counselor or Mr Cathey for more information.
