Welcome to the Hive! My name is Hannah Houk and this is my 9th year of teaching. I taught for 3 years in Gaston County before returning to my hometown, where I have remained for the past 6 years. I am a product of LCS, having attended SRL as a student myself. I graduated from Lincolnton High School in 2009; I graduated from Gaston College with my Associates in Arts in 2012; Finally, I am a 2014 graduate of UNCC with a Bachelor's in K-6 Elementary Education with a concentration in science. 

We will have so much fun this year in first grade! We will learn so much and take several really fun field trips! 

Parents, I will need your help this year. First grade is a pivotal and foundational year for all subjects, but most importantly, phonics. Homework is an extension of what we will be doing in class, but it will require you to help your child at home so that this year will be the most successful year for your child.

In my spare time, my husband and I have a daughter, Brynlee, who we love spending as much time with as possible. She is 3 and FULL of personality! I love reading (when I have the time), mowing grass, refurbishing old furniture, and visiting Goodwill's (to look for classroom library books).
