Project Mustang is ELHS' answer to Project Unify, a North Carolina Special Olympics program geared to educate and offer volunteer services for students and adults in the state with special needs.
The program needs committed members who want to demonstrate leadership in providing activities such as the Young Athletes Program (YAP), volunteering for Lincoln County Special Olympics practices and events for swimming, bowling, golf, and basketball programs, and fund raisers.

Some activities we would like to do this year include: lunch buddies, once a month outings (bowling, skating, movies, out to eat), and hoping to kick off a 5K fun run.  We would also like to begin an inclusive volleyball team, but need students willing to take the online coaching training.

The Special Olympics teams listed above always need volunteers to assist with their athletes during the year with practice and the tournament events. Our school has also created our own YAP where we had 7 little toddlers between the ages of 3 and 7 who came after school for an hour for 6 weeks  to develop fine and gross motor skills. those who participated had a blast.
And we can make it even better!  We need you!
