  • The LHS High-Q team is an extracurricular club that meets each week and is open to all students. The team participates in regional Quiz Bowl tournaments where students' knowledge of all topics is put to the test in head-to-head competitions against other schools. Using NAQT rules, students are asked questions regarding science, history, literature, art, sports, math, technology, pop culture, and current events. We compete each year in the Catawba Valley Quiz Bowl League, a three-part tournament featuring teams from Lincoln, Catawba, Burke, Iredell, Caldwell, and Wilkes counties. We also participate in the annual Lincoln County Knowledge Bowl against the other public high schools in the county.

    In the Spring, our major fundraiser is the annual bake sale held at the Adult Spelling Bee.

    The High-Q team has a long history of success, winning competitions at the county and regional level, and competing all the way up to the national level.
