• Cross Country 2020

     WLMS Cross Country Tryouts will be held October 13-15 from 3:30 - 4:30 pm for Cohort A, Cohort B, and all Remote-Only students.

    Pre-season workouts will be held on Tuesday, September 29th and Tuesday, October 6th until 4:30 for Cohort A and Remote-Only students with last name A-K.

    Pre-season workouts will be held on Thursday, October 1st and Thursday, October 8th until 4:30 for Cohort B and Remote-Only students with last name L-Z.


    Students in school will report to Mrs. Barkley’s classroom at car rider dismissal to change and get ready for practice. Students coming from home will need to arrive at the back parking lot no sooner than 3:15 for temperature check/COVID questions. Parents should not leave the athlete at the school until he/she is cleared for practice. Athletes should be picked up no later than 4:30 at the back parking lot after workouts and tryouts.  

    Athletes must have a current physical, new concussion form, and new COVID-19 form before being allowed to practice. Athletes must have a water bottle and a mask for practice. You will not be allowed to stay for practice if you do not have a water bottle and a mask. There will be no shared water jug. We will not wear masks while running, but we will need them when we are stretching, having group discussions, etc.


    We encourage all students interested in running XC to register to run in the Get Fit 5K here at WLMS on October 17th!! Our XC meets are only 2 miles, so if you can run a 5K (which is 3.1 miles), you can easily run in our XC meets!!

    If you make the team you will be required to attend all practices even if it is not your assigned day for school. You will also be required to purchase a t-shirt and or singlet to wear as a uniform for meets. You will be notified on October 15th regarding final decisions about cuts.
