Welcome to my page!

I have been teaching at West Lincoln Middle School since August of 2010. I began my teaching career here in 7th Grade Social Studies. After two years of teaching only Social Studies, I moved to a new room and a new team to begin teaching 7th Grade Social Studies and English/Language Arts. In 2013, I was able to move up with many of my students and begin teaching 8th Grade US History and English/Language Arts. In 2017, I moved back down to 7th grade to teach Social Studies. I began teaching 8th Grade again during the 2021-2022 school year.

In my first year at WLMS, I was the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. Since then, I have been the Head Boys Basketball Coach. I am also the Head Coach for the Boys Soccer team, as well as an assistant for Track!

A little background about me:

I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC before moving to Mooresville, NC in 2000. After High School, I enrolled at Appalachian State University and witnessed not 1, not 2, but THREE National Championships in football from 2005-2007 and the greatest upset in college football history when ASU took down powerhouse (and top 5 ranked) Michigan in The Big House!

My wife, Miranda, is a teacher at S. Ray Lowder Elementary school in Lincolnton. We have a daughter, Kyleigh, who was born in 2012, and attends Union Elementary. We also have three dogs named Lizzie, Mollie, and Nala. We love living in Lincoln County and working in the schools! You will see us out and about especially on the Rail Trail or walking down Main Street! My wife and I are both avid runners and weightlifters, and enjoy pushing each other to new fitness goals.

I am a HUGE sports nut! My favorite collegiate teams are Appalachian State and North Carolina. My favorite professional teams are the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Carolina Hurricanes, and recently Charlotte FC! I play drums for my church and have always been interested in music; playing the sousaphone in my high school's marching band (find my picture on my classroom wall!!)! I love to write and even wrote as a blogger for a UNC athletics website in 2017 and have been working on my own dystopian story for some time. Lately, I've been getting more and more into landscape photography.

It is easier to get ahold of me through email as it comes straight to my cell phone, but I usually do not respond over the weekend. Face-to-face or virtual conferences will be scheduled on an individual basis as needed.
