Hello and welcome to the 8th grade!!
My name is Mrs. Goins and I will be teaching 8th grade science this school year. Throughout my teaching experience I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math and science. I have been at WLMS for 22 years and have been teaching for 27 years total. WOW... to see that on paper is mind-boggling!!! I catch mayself wondering where that time went. I guess it is true, time FLIES when you are having FUN.
I am a PROUD product of Lincoln County Schools. I started my education at Crouse/Love Memorial Elementary, WLJH, and graduated at WLHS. It wasn't until 10th grade biology that I started having ideas about pursuing teaching as a career.
After graduation, I attended Gaston College where I earned an AA degerees in both math and science. From there I attended both UNC-Wilmington and Appalachian State University.
Upon fininshing at App State, I started my teaching career at ELMS as an 8th grade science teacher. Actually I started with no grade level, no classroom, and no supplies. I was just told that I would be teaching science somewhere in the building. Whew, that was interesting.
Besides teaching, I love to read, spend time with family, and anything that requires me to be outside.
