My name is Kathryn Graham and I have been at St. James for 15 years and will begin my 21st year of teaching in 2023-2024.  I love teaching through hands-on learning, music, art, manipulatives, acting, cooperative learning groups, thinking maps and any other strategy that engages children and helps them understand information better.  I have taught music, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade (yes, that's ALL elementary grades!).  I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Appalachian State University.  I received my certificate for Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching from UNCC.  I'm excited about being teamed with Ms. Beatty and Ms. Small next year. Ms. Small will teach ELA/Social Studies, Ms. Beatty will teach Science and I will be teaching Math.  We love this model of instruction because we believe it better prepares students for middle school.
