This is my 26th year teaching, almost all of which has been in Lincoln County at PCMS/NLMS.  I enjoy teaching 8th graders; they are fun and going through an important phase of their development.  I love to read.  I enjoy cooking.  I coach Track and Cross Country and enjoy running, walking, and listening to as much live music as possible.  I also Door Dash on the side for fun.  I promise this will not affect my teaching.  My wife of 25 years just retired from LCS after a long, successful career. Our son Alex will be starting at UNC Asheville this Fall.  We look forward to many more mountain trips.  I have a Masters in Middle Grades Language Arts from Appalachian State and attended The State University of New York College at Fredonia where I earned a degree in Secondary Education in English.  At the conclusion of this year, I will be joining my wife in Retirement!

We will be using Google Classroom, Commonlit, and IXL throughout the year.  I also require students to read on their own and complete weekly reading logs, which will be completed via a Google Form posted to the Google Classroom each week.  Based on this reading a written response will be assigned periodically.  Students will also write every day in class.  We will use Classroom Cereal to improve our Grammar skills.
