Mr. Jeremy Detter

I am beginning my tenth year as a Career Technology Education teacher (Technology) at North Lincoln Middle School.   I was born and raised in Lincoln County.  I attended West Lincoln High School, Catawba Valley Community College, and Appalachian State University.  I graduated from Appalachian in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication.  My degree specialized in Broadcasting and Electronic Media.

After college, I worked as a multimedia journalist at the Hickory Daily Record, a daily newspaper in Hickory, North Carolina.  I enjoyed my time spent at the newspaper.  At the Record, I was fortunate to win four awards for my work in video production.  I had the privilege of covering both sports and news.  From crime stories to the inspirational pieces, it was a great life experience.

My wife also teaches at North Lincoln Middle School.  She is the Computer Education teacher.  This is her eleventh year teaching.  We have two daughters, Amelia and Lucy.  They are truly a blessing to us.

We both love to travel. Just a few places we have visited are: New Orleans, Miami, Key West, Savannah, Charleston, Martha's Vineyard, and Bar Harbor. A few countries we have traveled to include the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.

I love to listen to country music, especially Eric Church. I am also an avid sports fan. Go Heels!

At North, I teach different aspects of technology to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.  I believe technological knowledge is important as our society continues to develop advances in technology.
