Debbie Craven
I am a graduate of UNC at Greensboro, with a specialization in Home Economics and Textiles. I used that degree for many years while working in the Retail industry, and in the Business sector working in operations management. In 1999, I decided to return to school to become a Special Education teacher and obtained my degree at UNC Charlotte, and continued my education by earning my Master's Degree in Special Education in 2006. During that time I taught middle school inclusion and resource classes with a concentration in English from 2000-2014. I also accepted the challenge to pursue my National Board Certification in Special Education and was awarded that achievement in 2006. I also completed re-certification in the fall of 2016.
In January 2014 I joined North Lincoln High School and usually co-teach in English classes. In 2016/2017, I was selected as EC Teacher of Excellence for Lincoln County Schools. It was a wonderful honor that I will treasure for many years.
I am married, have two grown children, Sara, who resides in Carthage, NC, and Justin, who resides in Maryland. I use my spare time sewing--almost every day! I enjoy altering wedding dresses and prom dresses and use the time to relax. Any other spare time is spent with my dog Spud and enjoying time on Lake Norman. I will also become a grandmother this year for the first time!
