My name is Bartley Bess.  This is my 18th year teaching.  I taught 1st grade for four years, 5th grade for 13 years, and am excited to teach 4th grade.  I enjoy teaching because I like to make a difference in people's lives.  I am married to Krystle, an ELL teacher for Lincoln County.  We have one daughter, Noelle, and two sons, Judah and David.  I am also a licensed foster parent for Lincoln County.  Appalachian State University awarded me a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am an ordained minister.  My family and I are active members of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.  I have been on several mission trips to Brazil, Peru, West Virginia, and Vermont.  When I am not teaching, you can find me watching movies, cooking, spending time with family, or reading.
