  • Tuesday, Sept. 12 AWAY @ Kings Mtn: WL Boys Soccer WINS! The West Lincoln boys soccer team earned their first win in MANY years as they defeated Kings Mountain Middle School on Wednesday, 2-0! On Tuesday, after two lightning delays Ivan Ramirez scored a golazo outside of the box, assisted by Jerick Alvarado. After a third lightning delay suspended the match, the Chiefs went home Tuesday night with a 1-0 lead with 2:15 left in the first half.

Once the match resumed on Wednesday, the Chiefs were on the lucky end of a missed penalty kick as time was expiring in the first half. From then, West Lincoln were able to withstand a strong push from the Patriots. However, with about 8 minutes remaining, Jose Duran took control of the ball in Kings Mountain’s half, made a beautiful move and cross to Gregorio Soto who headed the ball into the back of the net. The remaining minutes saw a flurry of Kings Mountain shots, with Keeper Chase Driscoll making save after save. The defensive play of the game, though, came from Logan Caldwell who appeared out of nowhere to erase a sure goal for the Patriots, sending the Chiefs home with the 2-0 win!!

Coach Britt and Coach Campbell are extremely proud of their hard work!
