Growing, Creating and Sharing
My students were so excited to add 3 new ipads to our classroom through a project funded on the Donors Choose website. The new ipads have raised students engagement, increased excitement and allowed us to capture photos and videos of our daily learning. The students used the "Old Fart" app to transform current pictures of themselves to pictures of what they may look like at 100 years old. Then they wrote about what they would be like at 100 years old. Finally, they used the "Chatter Pix" app to record themselves reading their writing and make it look like their 100 year old picture was talking. To say they LOVED this activity would be an understatement. The students have also used the ipads to document their daily learning during math and literacy centers. Most recently the students used the ipads to record commercials advertising for their "store" in our Itty Bitty City. The kindergarteners who were coming to "shop" were able to watch the commercial and have an idea of what they would be shopping for. We are so thankful to have had the support of so many to help us get these ipads for our classroom! I wish you all could be a fly on the wall in our classroom to see the excitement and joy my students have as they create and share their creations using the ipads! Thank you for making this possible!
