Improving students social/emotional health through community connections

  • Asbury Resource Center: United Way of Lincoln County has created a resource center in the old Asbury School building for children in Lincoln County. The rooms are set up by gender and look very much like a clothing store you would find at the mall or a local shopping center. We are excited that this resources is offered for students in need. 

    East Lincoln Christian Ministries-  4278 Burris Road, Denver NC 28037, (704) 483-4415; Christian Ministries is a non-profit organization that provides support to families and individuals in the East Lincoln community. 

    Teen Health Connection: Provides medical and mental healthcare and health education to adolescents ages 11-22. It is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

    Lincoln Wellness Center- 311 McBee St, Lincolnton, NC 28092- (704) 732-0018- Walk in hours 8:00AM-3:00PM (no appointment needed); Lincoln Wellness Center is home to four counseling services: Alexander Youth Network, Monarch, Phoenix Counseling Center and Support Incorporated.  The center provides open access walk in service for the first visit without an appointment.  A comprehensive clinical assessment, treatment plan, a psychiatric evaluation with prescriptions if needed, and a referral to the proper level of care.

    Phoenix Counseling Center/Mobile Crisis- (855) 527-4747- 24 hours 7 days/week crisis line for people seeking immediate mental health assistance.

    Contact your place of employment for details on therapy coverage, and a list of network providers in your area.  Some employers offer EAP coverage which includes free counseling.
