  • Welcome to Catawba Springs.

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Catawba Springs Elementary School. I have been in education for twenty years and during that time I have served as an elementary school teacher, an assistant principal, and a principal. At Catawba Springs we are very fortunate to have outstanding teachers, wonderful students, and very supportive parents and community members. We believe that teaching and learning are centered on the needs of our students, and by working together we strive for our students to be on grade level academically and socially. I appreciate your support of our school as we strive to prepare our students to be successful and able to attain their dreams.

    Kristi Smith

  • Mrs. Samantha Mehrlich chosen as a NC Demonstration Classroom at Catawba Springs Elementary

Mrs. Samantha Mehrlich, Kindergarten teacher at Catawba Springs Elementary School, has been selected to join the work of the NC Demonstration Program which is administered by the NCDPI’s Office of Early Leaning.  Mrs. Mehrlich, a teacher for 17 years, participated in a rigorous selection process that is a signature initiative to promote high-quality, effective early childhood teaching and learning.

North Carolina’s Pre-K and Kindergarten Demonstration Programs lead by modeling, sharing, promoting, and articulating effective learning environments, curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices to ensure optimal learning.  Mrs. Mehrlich’s classroom will serve as a demonstration site to teachers across the Region and State.

Lincoln County Schools is proud of Mrs. Mehrlich’s accomplishment.  This is an honor not only for her, but for Lincoln County Schools.
