  • snow days

Due to snow and icy conditions, Lincoln County Schools was closed January 9th and 10th for students.  February 24thApril 14th and/or Saturdays in the month of January, February, and March were designated as potential make-up days on the 2016-2017 school calendar.

Please note the plan regarding student make-up day(s):

    January 9th
January 9th will NOT be made up based on banked instructional time.

    January 10th
January 10th was designated as an optional teacher workday and will take the place of the February 24th optional workday.
February 24th will become a regular school day for students and staff.

Why are we making up January 10th?
    • The 2016-2017 school year has 178 days, thus resulting in two less instructional days than in previous school calendars.
    • As a result of the two less instructional days, there are fewer banked instructional hours beyond the required 1,025.
    • Unfortunately, we cannot predict the weather during the winter season, and we are trying to preserve our banked time balance in order to maintain options in the upcoming months.

  • Lego Club

Thanks to a generous donation of 1,200.00 from Timken and 200.00 from Carolinas Healthcare Lincoln we have been able to expand our Lego club to include Lego Wedo 2.0 for our third grade Lego club. This is our third year at S Ray Lowder offering Lego club to our students. This year third, second and first graders will have a chance to participate and use materials unique to their grade level. Third graders currently meet on Tuesdays at 2:45 if you would like to see us in action!
